Festibérico 2012 has come to an end and we all hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
We want to thank all the people that have helped us to make this possible. We want to
express our gratitude to both ambassadors for their visit and support to the festival.
Of course, we also want to thank our guests - directors, producers, actors and actresses -
for their presence and the nice time we have spent together and our guest musicians for
their wonderful and inspiring music.
Festibérico is now more than movies, it's music, it's food, it's people!
Our festival is already part of the cultural landscape of the city of Delft as well as
an important showroom of Portuguese and Spanish culture in the Netherlands.
That's all thanks to our public, people of many different nationalities, languages
and backgrounds. They have made this 8th edition of the festival one of the most
successful since we started this adventure in 2002.
Thank you very much and we hope to see you all again in the next Festibérico

On the last day of our festival we invite you to join us and enjoy the music of Portuguese band LAVOISIER. Singing in both Portuguese and English, they aim at a musical expression with no fears and no preconceptions about anything. With LAVOISIER nothing is lost, and Portuguese traditional music is recovered and transformed into beautiful melodies!
Lavoisier will play at Festibérico after IBERIA ANIMA-TE and before FINISTERRAE (closing session) [-]

The Portuguese press referred to ESTRADA DE PALHA in many different ways: Western
from Alentejo, Wester from Trás-os-Montes, among other names! We are glad that Rodrigo
Areias, the director, will be at Festibérico on the 21st to explain us all about the movie!
Wherever the region this Western comes from it is indeed Portuguese and the soundtrack was
written by two successful Portuguese musicians, Rita Redshoes and Legendary Tigerman, who
used for this project peculiar music instruments like a marxophone and a driller.
We are all curious to hear the final result! [-]
Cecilia Fernández (singer) and Carlos Ema (pianist) offered us their personal selection and interpretation of cantes (flamenco songs) from the world of Enrique Morente, with the richness and intimacy that the duo piano-cante brings to flamenco art.
Nausicaa Bonnín, the leading actress of TRES DIES AMB LA FAMÍLIA, was present at the screening of the movie on Tuesday, April 24.

Márcia, the main character of SANGUE DO MEU SANGUE, played by Rita Blanco, was actually created by the actress. Rita said to a Portuguese newspaper that she wanted to bring up the theme of unconditional love in the movie. The strong minded Márcia is from all the characters that Rita has played, the character that she devoted most time to build. The movie took two years to be filmed, it was interrupted because of the lack of financial support from public institutions and it almost had to be canceled. [-]
